| Our Story |
|
Founded in 1993, Transport Gilmyr has built up a solid reputation based on impeccable service and unfailing dependability, supported by a foundation of confidence and loyalty. Humble beginnings… which have led to an undisputed renown! Having worked for almost twenty years for the trucking company managed by his father, Gilbert Thibault, with the firm support of his wife Myrtha, decided in 1993 to go on his own. Year after year, they developed, perfected, and strengthened the company that specialises in the transport of general merchandise in full or partial truckloads across Canada and the United States. The company has grown so much that in 1999, it became time to move, and it was in Montmagny that Transport Gilmyr would establish itself. In 2002, wanting to handle every aspect of the business, Gilmyr opened a workshop intended for mechanical maintenance and repair and, a few months later, in 2003, equipped itself with a terminal in Montreal. Thanks to the quality of service Transport Gilmyr contributes to the competing positioning of its clientele in the North American Market. Due to the pressures of the Asian market on all manufacturing companies the delivery time and the aspect of transport became vital for the prosperity and survival of these companies. Transport Gilmyr was able to adapt to this new reality. In constant evolution, the increase in business and the size of the workforce were such that they required, again, a more spacious work environment. So, Gilbert and Myrtha acquired a new terminal in Montmagny in 2004, this one offering an enormous potential for development due to the size of the existing building and land space. The strength of the company… The spirit of the team! Gilbert and Myrtha have invested time and resources in order to create a family atmosphere and a feeling of solidarity within the company as this is of primary importance to them. |
